I am a design student in the sustainability stream. My current project aims to create a resilient urban water route in Auckland CBD to address flooding and water pollution. This issue is critical due to the increasing frequency of flooding due to climate change.

The first week is a relaxing phase, but the next week is when I will work on my plan. It will be a three-week proposal refinement and planning phase. In the first week, I created a Miro board and timeline.

This project was inspired by my observation of dense urban landscapes and limited green space in many cities, which lead to water management issues. My goal is to integrate innovative design methods to increase cities' resilience to flooding while improving water quality.

For the first week summary, I continue to advance the proposal research by reviewing the feedback from the Design 300 course.

- Add different ideas

- Support the claims with evidence

- Simplify the concepts for non-experts

- Provide a clear overview of the problem

- Specify the design approach and its progression

I will use the double diamond framework for my project on designing a resilient urban water route.

Advantages:

The double diamond framework provides a clear step-by-step process that helps organize and focus the design work. It also allows ideas to be refined through feedback and testing, which improves the final result.

Disadvantages:

Its iterative nature can be time-consuming and cause delays if not managed well. Navigating between divergent and convergent phases can be challenging, especially if the problem is too broad or poorly defined.
