Based on feedback from DES300 Avoid repetition: Combine and condense repeated sentences to simplify introductions. Provide evidence: Support claims with evidence from reliable sources, especially when discussing the links between dense buildings, limited green space, water pollution, and flooding. Simplify complex concepts: Break down complex ideas and avoid jargon to ensure that non-experts can easily understand them.

Challenge statement Before: "How can we support the resilience of the human and transhumanic communities in Auckland's CBD?"

After: "How do we design and implement green infrastructure solutions such as rain gardens and green roofs to effectively manage stormwater and enhance urban resilience?"

Urban areas around the world face increasing environmental challenges due to climate change and population growth, which seriously affects water quality and flood risk. Auckland’s CBD is a poster child for these issues, with its dense urban structure and limited green space. Impervious surfaces and outdated stormwater systems exacerbate flooding and water pollution, posing a serious threat to aquatic ecosystems and communities. So my idea is to advocate for an Urban Waterscape Route with multiple rain gardens in the centre of the city. And promote a more sustainable and resilient future for Auckland’s CBD.

During this week I investigated the current urban flooding problem in Auckland City Centre and collected data on existing water management practices. The next step is to understand community needs through surveys and interviews, which is in progress.

These are the places I searched for rain gardens to build.

Next plan

It's only the second week, but I want to follow every step of the way. Next I'll talk about how to state, develop, and discover my vision, scope, limits, and plans for the project. Based on this, I will reflect on myself and ask for feedback from my partners and team leaders.
